While tuition company comparisons are best made in person at your school, here is a recent list of 12 considerations that comes from a school business manager who asked the right questions. You may want to use these questions as a template for what to ask your tuition company candidates.
  1. How flexible are your methods of payment going to be for our parents. Do you have schools that use you for:

    ACH/EFT only? ACH/EFT + a coupon booklet? ACH/EFT + monthly mailed invoice? Phone payments? Web Payments?
  2. How many hours is your customer service office open each day? (Especially important for Hawaii and West Coast schools)

  3. How do you follow up with a family who has missed a payment?

    Letter only? Phone call? Email?
  4. How often will you send our school deposits?

    1X or 2X a month? 3X a month? 5X a month?
  5. Can we see a sample of your reports?

    Letter only? Phone call? Email?
  6. Can we see a walkthrough of what your online system for schools looks like, since we’ll be using that frequently?

    When they miss 3 payments By the end of the year Up to 1 year after the last payment was due
  12. Can you help collect donations from families and alumni? How?
